As this critical election year heats up, I know many of us are apprehensive about what the future holds. From defending the right to choose to addressing the climate crisis to confronting MAGA attacks on our democracy, we’re fighting on multiple fronts.
Despite the challenges ahead, I am keeping my head down and getting to work so that Democrats retake the House majority in November and we’re able to address these issues head-on.
But it’s not only about retaking our House majority. Americans can’t wait until the next election cycle for leaders to get to work. That’s why earlier this month, I introduced several bills including the 401Kids Act and the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit to ensure our nation’s children have the resources and opportunities to thrive.
Earlier this month, I was also proud to speak out about our work to protect abortion rights during the House Democrats 2024 Issues Conference in Leesburg. Despite extreme attacks on the right to choose — from the Supreme Court to House Republicans — I will never lose sight of what it will take to protect abortion rights for everyone, no matter in what state you live.
These are challenging times, but please know we are fighting together, and together, we can win.
