Make no mistake: Donald Trump’s cruel policy positions are already putting American lives in danger. Donald Trump appointed three Supreme Court justices who voted to overturn Roe v. Wade. He bragged about the ruling. And now, he is the reason why women are being turned away from emergency rooms and forced to travel across state lines for health care -- and why doctors are being threatened with criminal charges for simply doing their jobs.

When I heard the news of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe, I was on my way to a maternal health event. Immediately, a number of words came to mind that I can’t mention in this email.

For nearly 50 years, Americans relied on the fundamental rights that Roe protected. Now, we must speak of Roe in the past tense. It is outrageous.

The fact is that my daughter, goddaughters, and niece now have fewer rights than my generation or my mother’s generation. It is why we must fight. We cannot give up.
