Ukraine: how to stop this war - join the international online rally this Saturday!

You are invited to join us for an international online rally this Saturday, to mark the second anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, as we remember the hundreds of thousands of people who have been killed and injured in this devasting conflict.

The war has had far-reaching global consequences including an energy crisis, the displacement of millions of refugees across Europe, and helping push the hands of the Doomsday Clock to the closest to midnight they have ever been.

We continue to press for a ceasefire and lasting political solution to bring this war to an end and our speakers will address this question.

We are very sorry that our advertised speaker, Russian academic and anti-war campaigner Boris Kagarlitsky, will be unable to join us. He is now back in prison after being sentenced to five-years by a Russian military court for speaking out against the war. We will remember all those whose freedom has been curtailed for speaking out against the war, including the late Alexei Navalny.

‘Lakenheath: its role in the US war machine’ – CND webinar

The imminent return of US nuclear weapons to Britain keeps making the news. CND's ongoing legal questioning of nuclear-related construction works at RAF Lakenheath is included in this recent report by the BBC.

But how does Lakenheath fit into Washington's war machine? Our webinar on Monday 26 February will explore the growing evidence that US nuclear weapons are coming back to Britain, how Lakenheath fits into a wider nuclear network of US/NATO bases in Europe, and how campaigners can oppose these developments both in Britain and further afield.

  • Monday, 26 February, 6:30pm
  • Online, register here

With guest speakers: Hans Kristensen (Federation of American Scientists), Roger McKenzie (CND Vice-President); Tom Unterrainer (CND Chair); and Kate Hudson (CND General Secretary).

Join the rally at Parliament, demand MPs vote for a ceasefire in Gaza!

Last November, thousands of you joined us outside Parliament as MPs voted to reject calls for an immediate ceasefire, ensuring that the British government would continue to sanction Israel's attack on Gaza.

Tomorrow, MPs will have another opportunity to end British complicity in any future Israeli war crimes. As the death toll in Gaza exceeds 30,000 and with an Israeli assault on the southernmost city of Rafah - home to over a million displaced Gazans - currently being planned, stopping the fighting is of the upmost urgency.

As MPs vote, we're calling on supporters to join us for a rally outside Parliament, to send the clear message that the majority of the public want an end to the killing and an end to Britain's diplomatic and military cover for Israel's actions.
