ICYMI — The House Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government recently held a hearing on the situation at the southern border. As expected, extremist Chip Roy used the opportunity to spew MAGA talking points and fear-mongering. We included more details below… but first, instantly add your name to stand with Mary Gay as she goes toe-to-toe with fringe members >> |
Newly appointed subcommittee chair and Trump loyalist Chip Roy immediately made it clear that he’s only there to serve the extremist interests of the MAGA GOP. He called the humanitarian crisis at our border an “invasion,” and told the House that he would not let “statute books” – LAWS – stop the violent actions of GOP-led states. This is a clear attack on our Constitution. It’s chaos.
Am I surprised? No. Am I horrified? YES.
But that’s why we’re here supporting Mary Gay as she fights back against Chip Roy and the MAGA agenda on this very committee. Are you with us? Let us know by signing on to stand with Mary Gay as she goes toe-to-toe with fringe leaders like Chip Roy taking aim at the Constitution and the people it protects.
Instead of offering solutions on the border, MAGA Republicans in the House and many GOP state and local officials want to block any progress on immigration reform in favor of grandstanding in camo on the Rio Grande. Why?
Because Donald Trump asked them to. They want to campaign on boogeymen with racist dog whistles and inflammatory rhetoric while putting in no effort to actually resolve the growing crisis of our strained immigration system. This House GOP only deals in divisive bills and fringe attacks. We’ve seen it!
This GOP-led Congress has made history for passing the least amount of legislation, not to mention the embarrassment of ousting their own Speaker. Just this month, the House GOP failed to pass their own bipartisan funding for the border!
The only thing the House GOP does lead on is unfounded, fringe attacks on the Constitution. Mary Gay won’t stand by as they unravel the framework of our democracy. Join her today by signing on in support of the Constitution and standing up against extremist politics.
