If there’s one thing I hate, it’s a bully. There is no reason for a grown adult to resort to bullying. It’s simply not acceptable.

When a Moms for Liberty troll started harassing me online last year, I tried to ignore it.

I’d block them. I’d delete their posts. I’d report them to Twitter or to Facebook.… They just keep coming back.

Nothing has been off-limits. They’ve released my home address, photos of my children, and the kind of details about my life that I’d never put online (like the address of my kid’s public school, for example).

There are days where I go sit in my car, look at my phone, and just cry.

But that’s the point of it all, right? Bullies want us to feel hopeless; they want us to feel scared and powerless.

I refuse. And I’m not going to let Moms for Liberty or their supporters treat me, and Texas Democratic candidates, like target practice.

I’m a braver version of myself because of the courage, the tenacity, and the heart that you all have put into this organization. You’ve proved what happens when moms, and others like us, band together — we take back our power and we use it for good.

We started our “Stop the Bullies” fund because my online bully has found some new targets: two Texas moms, Jennie Birkholz and Krista Laine (...somehow she has time to harass all of us now).

If you follow Texas political chatter, you’ll likely recognize Jennie and Krista — Jennie is running for Texas House District 52, and Krista is challenging the only Republican incumbent on Austin, Texas City Council. For the last few years, they’ve been a big part of a grassroots parent effort in Round Rock, Texas and helped save their local school district from a hostile Moms for Liberty takeover.

Jennie, Krista, and the rest of the parents who created Access Education RRISD delivered a serious and crushing blow to Moms for Liberty in 2022 and again in 2023. Round Rock ISD has two new board members, and the school board coalition who believe in the value of public education (and, you know, books) can now overrule their extremist colleagues.

The local Moms for Liberty group is still furious. Worse, they’re out for revenge. And their targets are Jennie, Krista, and me.

We’re calling on our top supporters (like you, friend!) to help combat the lies. Donate to our “Stop the Bullies” fund now and help protect Democrats like Jennie and Krista from the Moms for Liberty trolls.

Local races like Jennie’s and Krista’s don’t typically gain a ton of attention, and rarely do they attract serious haters. Even if we don’t agree with a local candidate’s politics, here in Texas we don’t usually witness malicious attacks on our neighbors-turned-candidates. After all, we’re going to run into each other at the grocery store.

But Moms for Liberty supporters don't follow rules that govern decent behavior. They traffic in smear campaigns, personal attacks, and online threats. And these online campaigns serve as a dangerous breeding ground for extremists, organized hate, and worse.

Moms for Liberty is doing everything they can to try to thwart these two campaigns — no matter how dirty or ugly.

Mothers Against Greg Abbott just created a special fund to help Jennie and Krista fight back. Every dollar we raise in our “Stop the Bullies” fund is going directly to help defeat the lies and fund positive voter outreach.

Jennie and Krista shouldn’t have to do this alone. With your support, they’ll have our 100,000+ mom-army behind them, rooting them on, and making sure voters get the truth. Moms for Liberty, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

I don’t really care that they came for me. But trust me — when we’re done, they won’t be coming for anyone else.
