Dear John,

Next week, your Senators come back to Washington, D.C. to make some big decisions about kids and poverty. We need you to urge them to vote for the bipartisan expansion of the Child Tax Credit that has passed in the House. Almost half a million kids could be raised above the poverty line—it’s time for our Senators to take action.

Tell the Senate: Pass the expanded child tax credit [[link removed]]

Additionally, if passed, the expanded child tax credit package will:

Increase for 80% of low-income families not currently receiving the full credit – with more than one out of every three Black and Latino children benefiting, as well as three in ten American Indian and Alaska Native children benefiting. Roughly one in every seven white children and Asian children under 17 would also benefit from the proposal in the first year. Have a per-child phase-in providing each child in a family with their own same-sized credit. This is a significant improvement as three quarters of the 19 million children currently left out of the full credit live in families with more than one child. Help about 16 million children in the first year and reduce child poverty.

Contact your Senators and tell them children and families need their support today. [[link removed]]

Thank you for your advocacy,

Joanna Ain
