Hey John,
This may not come as a surprise, but Generation Progress, alongside other advocacy organizations, is teleworking for the foreseeable future to practice social distancing.
Whether you are working from home, laid off, lost a job, on the front lines as a healthcare provider, online educating, or face-timing your friends to maintain community, COVID-19 has affected us all.
To avoid the spread of COVID-19, health officials have in part recommended avoiding situations involving large crowds and staying home if you are sick unless you have to seek medical care.
We can spread it without even knowing we’re infected, so these precautions are some of the necessary ways to avoid community spread.
At the same time, quarantines, the shutting down of community spaces, and other actions to contain the spread of this potentially deadly illness complicate primaries and elections, threatening all of our ability to vote.
The good news is, our democracy does not have to stop. Everyone's right to be heard at the ballot box should be honored and respected—especially in this moment.
