John,
What a week! We met and mingled with fellow lovers of democracy, we learned about some deep sobering history of our neighborhoods, and hopefully made some space for someone special (even if that special someone was you - take care of yourself, friend.) But the month is not over, and there’s still plenty to do and to learn as we close out February. Join us Tuesday, February 27th at Shirlington Library for this month’s general body meeting —
AYD’s Civil and Economic Rights Forum. You’ll hear from Delegate Adele McClure, Scott Taylor PhD (President of the Black Heritage Museum of Arlington), and Professor Aderson B. Francois (Georgetown Law) discussing the economic legacy of the Civil Rights movement, and keep that history and knowledge flowing. We are also still taking applications for caucus chairs until Friday, February 23rd! Does a particular theme in our platform call to you? Do you want get directly involved with your community and the organizers all around us? Fill out this form to get involved in helping us bring our vision for Arlington to life!
And speaking of vision, Arlington County wants to know where you want to see us heading in the future as part of Arlington 2050. Follow this link to write a postcard from the future you want to create! You’re crushing it - keep it up! ~Samantha Check out our upcoming events and more:

| Are you passionate about a specific policy area? Find yourself spiraling about the environment, labor, or healthcare, wishing you could do more to move the needle? We need YOU to help AYD focus on the issues and advocate for progressive policies across our platform. In short: we need YOU to sign up to be a caucus chair!
With as much or as little commitment as your heart desires, the best part of being a caucus chair is that caucuses put on community service events, hold meetings with local stakeholders, draft resolutions to bring to the general body, and push AYD to organize around issues that you and your caucus are passionate about. Fill out this form
to apply before Friday, February 23rd! |
