Hi John,
This past Monday marked the tenth anniversary of President Obama signing the Affordable Care Act into law. This landmark legislation created critical protections for those with pre-existing conditions and allowed people to stay on their parents’ health insurance until the age of 26.
In the last decade, over 20 million people have gained insurance thanks to the ACA. But time and time again, Republicans have tried to undo this progress through legislative acts and legal action. Even now, a pending right-wing lawsuit puts the health care of millions of people at risk.
John, with the current situation surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, it’s more apparent than ever that we cannot continue to play politics with our health care.
In Congress, I have been a leader in the fight to ensure affordable health care access and defend protections for those with pre-existing conditions. I will continue leading the charge to make sure every Texan, no matter what, has access to good health care, but I need your voice in this fight as well, John.
