Ahoy there, John!

As we set sail on our first ship expedition of the year, we wanted to welcome you on board! This voyage marks the beginning of a busy year of Greenpeace expeditions all over the high seas, and we wanted to share our journey and show you how your support is driving ocean protection

Prepare to experience the thrills and challenges of life onboard a Greenpeace ship, be mesmerised by exclusive footage of stunning marine life, and be the first to hear about our cutting-edge research that will help shape the future of our oceans.

Let’s set sail and make a splash for ocean protection!

Join us on our voyage

As only Greenpeace can, in 2024 we’re setting sail to several iconic and ecologically important marine ecosystems to highlight the dangers they face and how we need a network of ocean sanctuaries protecting them.

Our first stop will be the Galápagos Islands, a marine reserve bursting with incredible wildlife – such as giant tortoises, marine iguanas and sea turtles. Together with local organisations and world-renowned scientists, we will track shark migrations and catalogue biodiversity around incredible seamounts. It’s one of the best examples of ocean protection in action and showing the success will help us make a strong case for governments to create new ocean sanctuaries in other areas, to protect at least 30% of the world's oceans by 2030.

Keep a lookout for Galápagos content in your next Oceans Onboard email – including a short behind-the-scenes documentary of a Greenpeace expedition and a blog from a special guest onboard!

Listen to our brand new podcast

Ever wanted to swim with a whale? Feel an octopus wrap its tentacles around your arm? Dive 100 metres to the ocean floor? Well, now you can, with our incredible new podcast, Oceans: Life Under Water.

Hosted by celebrated zoologist, broadcaster and wildlife filmmaker Hannah StitfallLife Under Water delves into the breathtaking beauty and mystery of our oceans – introducing you to extraordinary creatures, the threats they face, and what we can do to protect them. Hannah will be joined by acclaimed marine biologists, freedivers and of course, the intrepid Greenpeace ship crew.

Each episode will leave you dreaming about the vast abyssal plains, canyons and coral reefs in the deep sea, and you might even be tempted to Google, "How to become a submarine pilot".

Listen on Apple, Spotify or Amazon.

We look forward to sharing our voyage with you, get your sea legs ready!

P.S. Our oceans are in crisis, and this year is crucial if we want them to regenerate and thrive again. If you haven’t already, please ask the UK Government to prioritise ocean protection.
