We have not yet seen the technology breakthrough in education that has occurred almost everywhere else in our society. The time is ripe for that revolution. As ACTE program chair Don Nielsen predicts, “Technology will revolutionize learning as it has already revolutionized most of our society.”

As parents and concerned citizens, we should be promoting the total development of a child. Not only are the standards too limited, they do not address the fundamental systemic problems with K-12 education.

America’s liberty is under attack from within. Our failure to teach our history and the importance of the institutions that brought about America’s prosperity is a disservice to our children that will ultimately lead to our demise as a culture.

The government needs to stop siphoning away funding from one of the few areas in public education that is making a real difference—especially in poorer communities who lack the private school alternatives available to wealthier families.
