I’ve faced many tough elections and I will never forget how nasty it got last cycle. Take a look at what happened to our signs:

This is exactly the kind of thing that makes people so cynical about politics. It’s what convinces people out of running for office. Why raise your hand to help your community if your family will have to live through seeing things like this?

I’ve done lots of reflecting on it, and I’ve decided I refuse to be intimidated. I ran for office to help, and these extremists will not deter me. It’s in communities like mine that Democrats can’t be scared to stand up.
