As a Green Beret, my job meant I served as both a Special Forces warrior and a
battlefield diplomat.



I fought the Taliban head-on in more firefights than I care to remember -- as
mortar rounds impacted around me and bullets "snapped" in my ear as they almost
hit me.



I don't want to think about many of the horrific battles I survived defending
our nation,because many of my friends simply did not.



But I will tell you that I’ve seen what the Taliban and America's other
radical jihadist enemies -- like Iran -- are fully capable of.



And while President Trump unleashed American military might to crush the ISIS
caliphate, with President Biden, I fear our enemies will look for the next
chance to kill innocent Americans without reservation.

As far as I've been told, I’m the only Member of Congress who knows what it’s
like to shape policy in the White House, execute it at the Pentagon, then
actuallygo into battle against America’s radical Islamic enemies in
life-and-death situations.
