Sac DSA Covid-19 Organizing Update

Sacramento DSA’s Executive Board met this Monday evening to discuss how best to respond to this moment in a feasible manner that fits into our current organizing work and community ties.

After long deliberations, we decided on the following course of action:

Members are invited to fill out this 5 min survey with their priorities for how Sac DSA should respond to this moment with political demands and mutual aid projects.
Members are invited to attend a chapter-wide Zoom meeting this Sunday, March 29th at 2 PM to discuss the survey results and come to consensus about what our chapter should focus on and some concrete next steps towards accomplishing those goals.

Given the restraints on in-person meetings, our April General Membership Meeting is going to be virtual, as will our May Convention. Please stay tuned for further announcements.

Additional Convention Updates:

The Convention Working Group will have their proposed convention rules by April 30th. We’ve pushed back the deadline for amendments to resolutions back an extra couple of days to April 3rd. Here is the current convention packet with all resolutions and bylaw amendments. Link to submit amendments to resolutions (remember you can only propose amendments to resolutions, not bylaw amendments).

Child Watch working group meeting

As a part of Sacramento DSA's commitment to providing child watch at meetings and events, the child watch working group is meeting to take the next steps in coordinating child watch volunteers, coordinators and other details necessary for creating a safe place for families. If you are a parent, guardian or care provider for children, we would love to see you there. This meeting will also be open to children to provide input as well so feel free bring any young sprouts along!
