As people who work tirelessly to open the doors of prosperity to everyone in this country, we cannot afford to sit idly by. Support will play a pivotal role in every facet of Prosperity Now’s ambitious goals for 2024.

This month, the House voted to pass a bill that would temporarily expand the Child Tax Credit and the bill will be voted on in the Senate at the end of the month. Prosperity Now has been championing the expansion of a Child Tax Credit law rooted in racial economic justice and we will continue to advocate until it passes the Senate, too. "The Child Tax Credit has proven to decrease Child poverty by a record-breaking amount, lifting more than 2.9 million children out of poverty, reducing food hardship, decreasing parent financial stress, and more." [2020 Census]

We’re working across the country to pave the way for state and local-level Baby Bonds legislation, a policy that could one day give children from low-wealth households a nest egg they can use as young adults for higher education, a down payment on a home, or to start a business.

Entrepreneurship is one of the main ways white families have been able to build generational wealth. And systemic bias is entrenched in the structures entrepreneurs of color must battle every day. In 2024, we’re innovating programs, pilots, and policies that allow people of color to build strong businesses and thrive!

After putting in countless, tireless hours at work, no one should have to face unfair pay or non-existent benefits. Your support will place us in front of government officials to advocate for policies that overturn working discrimination once and for all.
