Over the past six years, prescription drug prices to treat serious conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and anxiety have more than doubled and 1/3 of Americans aren’t taking their medications as prescribed because they simply can’t afford it.
This unconscionable reality is forcing Michigan families to choose between getting their medications and putting food on the table.
But Governor Whitmer is taking this issue head on. She just launched the bipartisan Prescription Drug Task Force -- an effort to bring policy leaders, healthcare professionals, and patients together to increase transparency in drug pricing and combat the rising cost of prescriptions.
