John,
I entered public service because I saw the needs of our schools while volunteering in the classrooms of my children, and the importance of public education has remained a primary focus for me throughout time as mayor. This week, Manchester was awarded a grant [[link removed]] for $500,000 to redesign the model of Manchester High School West, which will benefit students at West for years to come thanks to the Barr Foundation.
I'm grateful for the Barr Foundation’s continued investment in our community, and excited to see the future of Manchester public schools as we continue our commitment to enabling student success!
At the same time, businesses are looking to Manchester as a hub for innovation and technology. This week, I met Roxo, a new robot designed by DEKA for FedEx to make same day deliveries and is launching a testing program for the first time right here in Manchester. This moment was decades in the making as our city has committed to working with DEKA and other tech leaders to make the Millyards a magnet for cutting edge industries. As we continue to open the Queen City up to innovation, our students will have greater opportunities to confidently enter the next generation of careers.
Thank you for your continued support!
Best,
Joyce

Last week, I was able to attend the UNH Manchester STEM EXCELL graduation ceremony.
Through this program, middle and high school students learning English as a second language are able to develop skills in science and math.
Congratulations to all of this year's graduates!

Last Saturday, I visited the "One Day of Community" event at Sheridan-Emmett Park. It was filled with rides, games, and great community groups.
FexEx and DEKA's SameDay Bot ROXO

On Tuesday, the City of Manchester received the first-ever delivery from the FedEx SameDay Bot, Roxo!
As someone who grew up in Manchester, and remembers when most of the mills were vacant, it is great to see the innovative, technological, and medical breakthroughs coming out of our Millyard.
I want to thank Dean Kamen, Rebecca Yeung, and everyone at DEKA Research and Development and FedEx who worked so hard to make this possible. With the new industry and jobs this program will create, I am looking forward to seeing what our community accomplishes next.
