Sudan: Women and girls abducted, held ‘in slave-like conditions’ in Darfur
— United Nations
Sudan is home to the world’s biggest displacement crisis right now, with women and girls caught in the crosshairs of ongoing conflict. Millions are counting on your intervention through humanitarian gifts:

A sharp uptick in fighting in Sudan is having a devastating impact on women and girls in the region.

Civil war has embroiled the country for nearly ten months now. Thousands have died, more than 5.7 million are displaced, and around 25 million are now relying on some form of humanitarian aid.

There have even been reports of women and girls being abducted, chained, and held in “inhuman, degrading slave-like conditions.” Survivors, witnesses, and other sources have already reported that over 20 women and girls have been taken, but the number could be higher according to the UN human rights office.

Sexual violence has also been used as a weapon of war in Sudan. More than 50 incidents of sexual violence linked to the hostilities have been reported, impacting at least 105 victims — 86 women, one man, and 18 children.

Thanks to your humanitarian gifts, UNFPA is reaching displaced women and girls across Sudan with violence intervention and lifesaving care.

Millions of women and girls are relying on your ongoing support today as humanitarian aid struggles to reach those in need — due to various challenges like insecurity, looting, bureaucratic hurdles, poor phone connectivity, fuel and power shortages, insufficient aid, and a shortage of technical and humanitarian staff.

Will you make an emergency gift to deliver lifesaving care to the women and girls in Sudan and beyond who need it most? [[link removed]]
