Freedom of Information Act requests show that US Border Patrol agents regularly refer to immigrants as "tonks," a slur of indeterminate origin. Popular belief suggests the term is an onomatopoeia of the sound made when a Border Patrol agent strikes an immigrant in the head with their Maglite flashlight. Neat. Agents of varied ranks, even those in a supervisory role, routinely use this perjorative in their internal communications. The dehumanizing slur is a perfect example of how Border Patrol culture views innocent immigrants — men, women, and children looking for a better life and fleeing violence in their home countries — as the enemy, to be beaten, abused, and neglected at will, instead of as human beings to be welcomed and compassionately cared for. That's probably why the Border Patrol is notorious for its appalling treatment of immigrants, a stain on our nation's soul that has gone unchecked since well before the Obama administration and continues to this day.

Terrorism in Africa increased 100,000% during "war on terror"
In 2003, the United States military embarked on a self-appointed mission to fight "terrorism" in Africa, building bases, conducting bombings, training militaries, and fighting with militants on the ground without much attention from Congress or the public at large. Since then, with billions of dollars spent and hundreds of civilians killed, deaths from terror attacks have INCREASED by 100,000%. In 2003, there were just nine terror attacks in all of Africa that killed 23 people. In 2022, over 23,000 people were killed in terror-related attacks. On top of that, at least 15 officers who benefited from US security assistance have been involved in 12 coups. Terrorists, bombings, and massacres seem to follow wherever the American imperial machine treads — conveniently justifying the expenditure of more taxpayer money and the sale of even more weapons to perpetuate endless conflicts that heap death and terror on some of the world's poorest people.

In one of far too many horror stories from the IDF's ongoing war in Gaza, the surviving members of the Khattab family told Sky News how Israeli forces threw a grenade into their kitchen, which sent shrapnel through five-year old Mu'min's eye. According to the kids, the IDF then entered their house in Khan Younis and shot both of their parents in front of them before interrogating 11-year-old Ahmad and his sister about tunnel locations. After determining that the children knew nothing, Israeli troops then sent the kids out into the warzone on foot, alone. The Khattab family had previously tried to get an evacuation dispensation because Mu'min has cerebral palsy and would have been very difficult to move. The International Committee of the Red Cross told the Khattabs that "we've ensured that the houses would not be bombed or destroyed at night and in the future," but it appears the IDF did not keep their word. The United States Senate just approved a bill to send an additional $14 billion to Israel to be used in the perpetration of war crimes like this.
