Pandemics Know No Border. Neither Should Compassion.

As the global pandemic of the coronavirus, COVID-19, continues, Oxfam is working with our partners, government health ministries, and key UN agencies in 65 countries to coordinate our response. Many of our teams are increasing their delivery of soap and sanitation services, including handwashing facilities and clean water – especially to people in higher-risk areas. We're also helping people minimize the risk of infection by providing them with accurate information and advice tailored to local languages and customs.

Right now, we're turning to our dedicated Oxfam members for help, and asking you to renew your support, when it's so urgently needed. Your commitment can be the difference – for vulnerable families and people living in poverty in every country where Oxfam works.

Step up and renew your 2020 Oxfam membership today. Your commitment changes lives.

All month long, we've celebrated women changemakers, examined the pressing issues that drive inequality, and challenged our community to get involved to realize a more just and equal world for women in 2030.

Tailor made: Economically empowering Syrian refugee women

Za'atari refugee camp in Jordan is the largest Syrian refugee camp in the world, with women and girls making up over half the population. To help tackle the economic challenges many women face in the camp, Oxfam, in partnership with UNHCR, created the Lel-Haya project to provide a safe, friendly workspace for women to earn a modest income by upcycling the discarded UNHCR tents into fashionable tote bags.
