The Guardian: "Thank gerrymandering for Trump's staunchest defenders in Congress" Actually, don't thank them -- help us unrig their districts >>
Friend --
Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows have been all over the news in recent months for their increasingly absurd defenses of Donald Trump. In fact, Meadows is such a big fan that after a North Carolina court ordered the lines of his rigged district redrawn before the 2020 elections, he was announced as Trump's newest chief of staff!
But even before that, he and Jordan were two of Trump's biggest cheerleaders in Congress. How did they keep getting away with it? Take a look at the districts they won their elections in:
Make sense now? For years, Jordan and Meadows weren't accountable to voters. Jordan still isn't. And Meadows, rather than try to win in a district that wasn't drawn to help him win, is planning to quit early and is about to go work for Trump.
At the NDRC, we're working to prevent manipulated districts like the ones above and bring accountability back to our politics.
