Donald Trump was just in Michigan campaigning ahead of the Republican primary on February 27th.

However, he didn’t dare come to West Michigan. He sees the progress we’ve made here, and he’s scared to come back.

In 2022, we flipped a Republican stronghold and elected the first pro-choice woman to serve in Michigan’s third. As Trump comes in full force for a second term, we need to send a clear message that we won’t tolerate extremism and dysfunction here or anywhere.

Make no mistake: Trump’s extremism in the White House opened the doors to roll back voting rights, laid the foundation for the overturn of Roe v. Wade, and cultivated anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric that is now putting our youth at risk. He is a danger to democracy.

And although Trump won’t show his face, my race is still a top target of National Republicans. They know in a swing state like Michigan, control of the White House will come down to who wins in our district.
