Hi John.

As many came together this week to celebrate the Kansas City Super Bowl win, our region experienced a horrible tragedy.

Words cannot describe the pain and shock we’re continuing to feel as a joyous day turned into heartbreak – right in our community. My heart remains with the victims’ families, and I pray for the quick recovery of those who were injured.

I appreciate the bravery and coordination of the law enforcement officers, first responders, and health care workers for ensuring a swift, orderly evacuation and caring for the victims. Though our community continues to stand together in the present, the traumatic memories will stick with children, families, and community members for far too long.

I understand many people are going through a hard time right now and need assistance. Please know that help and resources are available. No one has to face this alone.

Please click here to find mental health resources that may help you and your family. Caring people are available that can help you.

This tragedy does not reflect the spirit of Kansas City, and I support those asking for change to ensure a brighter and safer future.

It is an honor to serve you in the U.S. House of Representatives. If you have any questions or would like to share your views, you’re always more than welcome to contact me.

My warmest regards,
