Hi John,

A couple weeks ago I emailed you about Congress’ new proposed fiscal
commission. While that hasn’t become law yet, it indicated members of Congress
may be finally ready to do something serious about our impending fiscal crisis.

Last week, we got more good news. House Budget Chairman Rep. Jodey Arrington
(R-TX) introduced the 'Business Cycle Balanced Budget Amendment,' and I
couldn't be more thrilled to let you know that Americans for Prosperity is
fully behind this initiative.

This proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution presents a practical approach
to tackling our nation's fiscal challenges.

Instead of the typical balanced budget amendment requiring annual balancing
despite volatile revenues, this proposal focuses on balancing the federal
budget over the medium term. This approach provides the stability and
predictability crucial for reining in Washington's excessive spending.

As you're aware, our nation's debt has skyrocketed past $34 trillion,
translating to over $258,000 of debt per household. Since January 2021, prices
have surged more than 17% under President Biden's reckless agenda, with the
average American household now facing an additional $11,000 in expenses
annually just to maintain their standard of living.

Rep. Arrington's Business Cycle Balanced Budget Amendment offers a pragmatic
solution to this pressing issue. By stabilizing spending and revenue policies,
this approach ensures that surpluses during prosperous periods offset borrowing
during economic downturns.

As a fellow advocate for fiscal responsibility and limited government, I
believe this proposal represents a genuine opportunity to address our nation's
fiscal woes. It's a practical step towards reining in overspending and ensuring
a more secure financial future for all Americans.

We will let you know soon how you can help your legislators see the light and
enact this necessary reform to our federal budget process … before it’s too
late.

To better understand this proposed amendment’s advantages over traditional
BBAs, you can check out this report I wrote last November

Thanks,

— Kurt
