Voters’ safety must be protected during a global pandemic.

Hey John,
This may not come as a surprise, but Generation Progress, alongside other advocacy organizations, is teleworking for the foreseeable future to practice social distancing.
Whether you are working from home, laid off, lost a job, on the front lines as a healthcare provider, online educating, or face-timing your friends to maintain community, COVID-19 has affected us all.
To avoid the spread of COVID-19, health officials have in part recommended avoiding situations involving large crowds and staying home if you are sick unless you have to seek medical care.
We can spread it without even knowing we’re infected, so these precautions are some of the necessary ways to avoid community spread.
At the same time, quarantines, the shutting down of community spaces, and other actions to contain the spread of this potentially deadly illness complicate primaries and elections, threatening all of our ability to vote.
The good news is, our democracy does not have to stop. Everyone's right to be heard at the ballot box should be honored and respected—especially in this moment. [[link removed]]
TAKE ACTION [[link removed]]
Federal leaders have a duty to protect our fundamental right to vote. To fulfill that duty, there needs to be at least $2 billion of emergency funding to support implementing and expanding voter registration and voting opportunities for all eligible Americans , including but not limited to online voter registration, no-excuse absentee voting, vote by mail, and early voting.
Congress must provide the resources to implement the necessary measures for carrying out elections during the COVID-19 pandemic. We need your help urging them to provide these resources during social distancing. [[link removed]]
Tell Congress they must support our elections during COVID-19. [[link removed]]
Under no circumstance should the 2020 general election be delayed; Congress has time to act now by expanding the budget. Our democracy must protect voters while they are fulfilling their civic duty.
We must protect the right to vote while ensuring peoples’ health and safety.
COVID-19 doesn’t care that it’s an election year, but we need the necessary support and resources to help our country have a safe, fair, and equitable election. [[link removed]]
Thanks for being in this fight together (socially distant from each other),
