Weight wasn't the only thing I lost when I took a weight-loss drug - Business Insider (No paywall) I can't count how many times Levain's cookies sabotaged me â a day of disciplined dieting broken as I got sucked into those buttery black holes. When it dawned on me that I could win my daily battle without even fighting it, I felt like I'd learned how to breathe underwater, as if I'd lost enough weight to levitate.

WorkTrump Hit Where It Hurts Most The judge went on to say that the accusation of “inflating asset values to make money” was “not a mortal sin” and that Trump, his sons and two of his top aides at the company “did not rob a bank at gunpoint.” And yet, Justice Engoron concluded, “defendants are incapable of admitting the error of their ways. Instead, they adopt a ‘See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil’ posture that the evidence belies.” Work

WorkWorkMicrosoft-backed OpenAI valued at $80bn after company completes deal The large investments in OpenAI have attracted the attention of regulators, with European Commission officials stating in early January that they would look into whether Microsoft’s backing raises antitrust concerns. On 24 January, the Federal Trade Commission in the US said it was investigating whether investments from Microsoft, Google and Amazon into AI companies including OpenAI harm competition. WorkWorkWeekend preview: Everyone's just chasing UConn and Purdue South Florida, which was picked to finish ninth in the league\'s preseason poll, is the real story in the American Athletic Conference. First-year coach Amir Abdur-Rahim, who led Kennesaw State to the NCAA tournament last year, entered the week with the first-place team in the AAC -- the team second-place FAU has to catch. Chris Youngblood (15.0 PPG) leads a squad that\'s made 39% of its 3-point attempts in league play. WorkDaytona 500 cheat sheet: FAQ for 2024's Great American Race • \"Did you know that one driver in this race is actually a Jedi?\" No, it\'s not Kaz Grala, who will start 26th and has a name that totally sounds like he learned how to race from Yoda and Mace Windu. It\'s Blaney, who, on Thursday night walked away from a Mustafar-type situation as his Ford caught fire, then on Friday dropped in our official ESPN Star Wars podcast \"Never Tell Me the Odds\" to talk to me, Clinton Yates and Arda Öcal about his lifelong obsession with all things in a galaxy far, far away. WorkWorkWorkThe American vibes recession is over “The only thing I’ll observe is that the predictive power of those variables has degraded substantially over time,” Goolsbee said, still referring to the vibes. “There are a lot of people now who say they think the economy is bad, and they’re spending a lot. In the old days, you said you thought the economy was bad you stopped spending. So its predictive power has made us less attuned to it.” WorkTucker Carlson’s Lesson in the Perils of Giving Airtime to an Autocrat The comment represented a notable change in tone from earlier this week, when he appeared to offer a blasé opinion regarding Russia’s treatment of Mr. Navalny, who was first imprisoned three years ago on charges of corruption and “extremism” that the United States called baseless. WorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkTens of thousands protest in Budapest over sexual abuse case pardon Orbán’s chief of staff, Gergely Gulyás, told a briefing earlier on Friday that the president and the former justice minister took responsibility for the issue and the government considered the matter closed. It was important “to look into the future” and the government would look to tighten child protection regulations, he said. WorkWorkWorkWorkWorkDonald Trump ordered to pay over $350m in New York financial fraud case In determining the size of the fine, Engoron agreed with prosecutors that Trump saved about $168m in interest by inflating the value of assets. Another $126m came from calculating the “ill-gotten profits” Trump received from selling the Old Post Office building in Washington DC, which Trump would not have been able to purchase, Engoron said, without using false financial statements. WorkFani Willis hearing struggles to dent Trump prosecutor's credibility The allegations have also threatened to turn the case into political theatre. Trump, the frontrunner for the Republican nomination, has derided the prosecution as scandal-plagued in addition to his usual refrain that the criminal charges against him are a political witch-hunt. WorkWorkWorkWorkThink You Missed Out on Nvidia? 1 Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stock to Buy Before It Jumps. The most optimistic analyst gives AMD a 12-month price target of $270, pointing toward 56% gains from current levels. If the chipmaker manages to generate more AI revenue than what Wall Street is forecasting, which it could do by capturing a good chunk of its foundry partner\'s production capacity, then don\'t be surprised to see shares of AMD approach this Street-high price target in the coming year. WorkWorkWorkChart of the Week: Super Micro is having a super 2024 In year two of the AI era, the focus is now shifting at least partly away from these titans to smaller companies that still offer exposure to the sector. Sometimes the spotlight comes from corporate guidance, an analyst note, or even when Uncle Nvidia takes a big stake, as it did this week. And when investors figure out the next potential undervalued AI play, the stock booms. WorkWorkWhere Will Boeing Stock Be in 2 Years? The Royals restructured the deal to guarantee the option year and add an $18 million mutual option for the 2024 season -- which Merrifield and the Blue Jays both rejected, leading to his free agency. WorkEx-NBA player Pollard receives heart transplant A 1997 first-round draft pick after helping Kansas reach the NCAA Sweet 16 in four straight seasons, Pollard was a useful big man off the bench for much of an NBA career that stretched over 11 years and five teams. He played 55 seconds in the Cleveland Cavaliers\' trip to the NBA Finals in 2007, and won it all the following year with the Celtics despite a season-ending ankle injury in February. WorkNBA All-Star Weekend: Best moments from Indianapolis Last year, Jayson Tatum was named MVP after dropping 55 points, the most ever in an All-Star Game. He\'s back again as a starter and hopes to lead the Eastern Conference to a win alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Tyrese Haliburton. The Western Conference starting lineup is headlined by LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Nikola Jokic. WorkJay Bilas: Pause with me for a moment and appreciate Caitlin Clark But Clark\'s record-breaking career won\'t be forgotten, and we are all lucky to be able to watch and appreciate it. Appreciate her. Enjoy Caitlin Clark. Another might score more points in the future, but we will never see the likes of her again. Ever. She is -- and has been -- that significant to the game of basketball. Work11 NFL experts answer four questions on next season: Super Bowl, MVP and breakout picks Yates: The Seahawks sign LB Patrick Queen. I suspect you\'ll hear buzz of this nature involving any Ravens defensive free agent, as new Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald architected a brilliant defense in Baltimore. But the Queen match is particularly pertinent as Macdonald was Queen\'s position coach in Baltimore early in his career. Seattle has two key starters who are going to be free agents (Bobby Wagner and Jordyn Brooks), and this draft class is not deep on inside linebackers. WorkUFC 298: Can Alexander Volkanovski beat Ilia Topuria (14-0) and Father Time (23-2)? \"People want to bring in the age thing now, and that\'s perfect,\" Volkanovski says. \"I\'ve got a young, undefeated prospect that everyone is hyping up. This fits perfectly into the story that I want to tell. [Topuria] is a confident young man who needs to be humbled, and I\'m looking forward to that. This isn\'t just about winning. I want to give him a good life lesson. WorkWorkPassan: Rob Manfred has five years to define his legacy -- how will he use them? These are novel thoughts, and perhaps naïve ones, too, because Rob Manfred is still here due in large part to his success in making rich men richer. He is ownership\'s attack dog and flak jacket. Manfred has said time and again that he is commissioner because he loves the game. As the clock ticks on the tenure of Major League Baseball\'s 10th commissioner, he has the chance to prove it unequivocally. WorkIs it nearly over? Mbappé to Real Madrid and other way-too-long transfer sagas In fairness, there was a point when there may have been initial contact with United\'s representatives over a potential switch, but nothing tangible ever came of it. However, that didn\'t stop the rumour-mongers consistently touting Sneijder with a move to the Premier League club as he helped Inter win the treble in 2010 and starred for his country at multiple tournaments between 2008 and 2014. WorkTransfer Talk: Man United hope to sign Bayern's Mathys Tel for attacking boost - Although is expected that PSG forward Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid, he made no mention regarding his future destination during his speech to teammates, reveals Fabrizio Romano. It is reported that Mbappe informed his PSG teammates that he will depart the club in the summer, and while there was no discussion on where his future lies, reports indicate the 25-year-old will join Los Blancos in the summer. WorkWork2 Teenagers Charged in Connection to Kansas City Super Bowl Rally Shooting After being detained, most juveniles in Missouri are released to their parents or guardians, unless they are charged with serious crimes like felonies or those involving a weapon. Prosecutors do not file charges to the court directly, but instead work with the juvenile officer, a court employee who works in ways that are similar to a prosecutor. |
