I do hope this email finds you and your loved ones well.

There is no denying that this is an extremely challenging time for all. This is especially true for Womankind Worldwide and our partners, for women’s rights organisations across the globe and crucially for the women we exist to support. Many of the problems our work strives to overcome are likely to be exacerbated by the COVID-19 situation.

For example, violence against women and girls is set to increase. Recent research indicates ([link removed]) that in some parts of China domestic violence has tripled during the epidemic.

We also know that the impact of COVID-19 will be much greater in countries where health and social care systems are frail, the rule of law is weaker, and where there are already high levels of violence against women and girls. These are the circumstances faced by our partners in Africa and South Asia, who need our support more than ever.

So, in the face of this unprecedented challenge, the crucial work of Womankind must go on. Womankind remains fully functional and will continue to work in support and in solidarity with our truly inspiring partners in the global South.

Simply put, our ability to continue as an organisation is only possible because of the generous and loyal support we receive from our fantastic supporters like you. If you can, please keep supporting us at this critical time. By doing so you will continue to make a real and lasting difference in women’s lives around the world.
