John,

A colleague once told me that if he needed a postage stamp or bandaid, I’d
be the first person they’d ask. As a single mom of three and former Cub
Scout leader, I’m always prepared!

This is my *fifth* competitive election, after a spirited primary in 2018
followed by three campaigns in purple districts. In these final few weeks
of a tough race, I’ve learned you have to be prepared for anything.

But as prepared as we can be, there’s only so much we can do without
money. It’s the tough truth about running a campaign in a state as big as
California—we will not win if we can’t reach voters through TV and digital
ads.

We're being outspent right now at a rate of three to one, and super PACs
are running millions of dollars in negative ads against us. Our average
donation right now is $27—every single contribution is adding up to help
us fight back. [ [link removed] ]Can you make a donation of $27 or whatever makes sense
for you?

Thanks for helping me be prepared for anything super PACs might throw at
us in these next few weeks.

Onward,

Katie
