Have you heard the news? House Democrats took on Big Pharma, and we won. 

The Inflation Reduction Act, which I proudly fought to pass, makes sure that Medicare can finally negotiate prescription drug prices so families are getting a better deal on their medication. 

For the next four years Medicare will negotiate for savings on up to 60 drugs, and up to 20 every year after that.

For decades, Big Pharma blocked this from happening, causing millions of Americans to choose between paying for life-saving medications, or paying for their rent, groceries, and other basic necessities. 

Stories of people going without their medication because of the cost have sadly been all too common, and it's why this announcement is so meaningful. In Illinois alone, 342,000 seniors will save money when Medicare negotiates lower prices according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
