Dear Colleague,
Rich white northern countries, at least their elite governments, seem to hate the traditional understanding of the family. They have fought for decades at the UN to somehow sully the understanding of what it is to be family. It happened again this week at the 30th anniversary of the international year of the family at the United Nations. The global south defended the family. It is almost as if the rich white north wants to colonize their ideas on those who do not want them. Stefano Gennarini, J.D. reports.
Along with several UN Member States, C-Fam organized a UN side event this week that highlighted the importance of the family in poverty reduction and healthy societies overall. We had many great speakers from allied organizations and from member states. Rebecca Oas, Ph.D. reports.
And here is the increasingly remarkable weekly report from our colleagues at the International Youth Coalition (IYc).
Spread the word. Be daring. Keep the faith.
Yours sincerely,
Austin Ruse
President
