Friends,
I know how much this team cares about protecting reproductive freedoms, so I want to tell you about a new organization my friend Gina Ortiz Jones is launching.
It’s called Find Out PAC. [[link removed]] As in, extremist judges are about to find out what happens when they mess around with our reproductive freedoms .
Here in California, our state leaders have done a lot to protect and expand access to abortion care – but every person in our country should have access to reproductive health care.
No one should have to spend hundreds of dollars on a flight, or be worried about their internet searches as they schedule an appointment, or drive under the cover of night to avoid being arrested or harassed while trying to get lifesaving health care.
Everyone should be able to get the health care they need in their own damn state.
Gina is fed up, and so am I. If you are too, I’m hoping you’ll help get Find Out PAC off the ground. Click here to split a donation of $20 or any amount you can right now between Find Out PAC and my reelection campaign. [[link removed]]
Texas is ground zero in the fight for reproductive freedoms, and unfortunately they’re showing the country exactly where these extreme policies lead us.
Take the recent Kate Cox case: Jimmy Blacklock, John Devine, and Jane Bland, three Texas Supreme Court justices, told a high-risk, pregnant mother of two just this past December that she didn’t qualify for the medical exception to Texas’ near-total abortion ban. She didn’t qualify for the health care that could protect her ability to have children in the future – the health care her doctor said could save her life.
Because Blacklock, Devine, and Bland didn’t think she was “close enough” to losing her life and her fertility.
I mean, come on. How close is “close enough”? Two minutes? A few hours?
That isn’t justice.
To put it bluntly: Blacklock, Devine, and Bland messed around with basic freedoms – freedom to listen to one’s doctor, freedom to receive life-saving health care, freedom to save one’s fertility.
But Blacklock, Devine, and Bland are also up for re-election this November.
Gina is launching Find Out PAC with one goal: Defeat Blacklock, Devine, and Bland on November 5th. Will you split a donation of $20 or any amount you can right now between my re-election campaign and Find Out PAC to help get this crucial work off the ground? [[link removed]]
Until today, they thought they were going to skate to re-election to the Texas Supreme Court.
But no one deserves a free pass – least of all these three extremist judges. With your help, we can hold them accountable for their actions.
Please consider donating any amount today to power the fight for reproductive freedom. [[link removed]]
Thank you so much.
