This Week's Highlights

Monday

With President Biden facing mounting pressure to stop U.S. funding for the embattled U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees (known as UNRWA), the Israeli military released evidence that Hamas had built a data and command center beneath the organization's headquarters in Gaza City.

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) used the news to once again call on the Biden Administration to stop the funding immediately.

Tuesday

Rep. Michelle Steel (CA-45) doubled down on her support for Israel despite frequent intimidation attacks from far-left activists who sympathize with Hamas. In an op-ed she penned, Steel said:

"Hamas must be eliminated. Every single hostage must be returned. History will remember those who choose to stay silent. In Congress, I will continue working to ensure Israel has everything it needs to defend itself from the antisemitic and genocidal threat it faces."

Wednesday

Despite President Biden's attempt to shift blame to Congress for the border crisis, there is a long list of executive actions that he could take himself to combat the flow of migrants who are entering the country illegally.

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) highlighted just some of them.

Thursday

Rep. Young Kim (CA-40) celebrated the passage of her Uyghur Policy Act legislation. The bill, which passed nearly unanimously, "create[s] a comprehensive, multilateral strategy to raise international awareness of the persecution of Uyghurs, direct the State Department to effectively respond to human rights challenges in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, and push back on the CCP efforts to silence Uyghur voices."
