Mayorkas Impeached ❌

The talk of the town in Washington this week is that the House has impeached
<[link removed]>
Mayorkas. It's been a long time coming, and I'm mighty relieved we've managed
to see it through.

This is the first time since 1876
<[link removed]>
that a Cabinet secretary has been impeached, so it’s a big deal. But that’s
because the situation happening at our border is a big deal—and America
deserves better than a leader who sticks his head in the sand and ignores one
of the greatest threats to our national security, thenlies about it
<[link removed]>
under oath.

As Speaker Johnson
<[link removed]>
put it, Mayorkas has done more damage than any Cabinet secretary in U.S.
history. He should have known this was coming down the pipeline.

Border encounters have reached all-time highs month after month, but the
Department of Homeland Security routinely fails torelease the numbers
<[link removed]>
in a timely manner. Their usual song and dance is a thief-in-the-night
approach where they dump the statistics three weeks after the end of the month
on a Friday or Saturday when no one’s looking.

Meanwhile, these migrants are pouring into every corner of our country—and
surprise, surprise—even the bleeding-heart liberals have had enough. In
Chicago, Democrats are ready to throw out the wholesanctuary city
<[link removed]>
moniker, and in New York City, Mayor Eric Adams continues to sound the alarm
<[link removed]>
about resources running dry. After years of touting their willingness to take
everyone in, they finally got what they wanted—and they don’t like it. Imagine
that!

The writing’s on the wall here, folks: everyone is fed up with what’s
happening at our southern border. In fact,80%
<[link removed]>
of Americans say our government is doing a lousy job handling the migrant
influx.

If Mayorkas had his head on straight, he’d admit defeat and pack up his
office. We need a DHS leader who is dedicated to upholding the rule of law and
protecting our homeland—what a concept.

Our efforts may crash and burn in the Democrat-controlled
<[link removed]>
Senate
<[link removed]>
, but I can sleep well at night knowing we did the right thing in the House.

Paying Our Respects 💙

For those who may not have heard, we suffered a heartbreaking loss
<[link removed]>
in our law enforcement community last week. Blount County Deputy Greg McCowan
tragically lost his life during a routine traffic stop, leaving a deep void in
our hearts.

There's no denying that his absence will be deeply felt and impossible to
fill.

Since then, tributes have been pouring in. Just earlier this week, the
University of Tennessee illuminated Neyland Stadium inbrilliant blue
<[link removed]>
as a tribute to Deputy McCowan. This gesture, alongside the clear blue sky
over downtown Knoxville, sends a powerful message: our community stands
unwaveringly behind the courageous men and women who protect and serve us.

Deputy McCowan's funeral was followed by a solemn procession of fellow
officers, with streets lined by community members paying their respects. It's
moments like these that fill me with immense pride for the East Tennessee
community and our remarkable ability to come together in times of tragedy.

As we reflect on Deputy McCowan's service and ultimate sacrifice, his memory
serves as a shining example of the selfless dedication that defines law
enforcement. He was a true hero who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of
duty, and my heart goes out to his family as they navigate this unimaginable
loss.

Let us never forget the profound sacrifices our law enforcement officers make
each day to ensure our safety and well-being.
