Reuters (2/15/24) reports: "New York Governor Kathy Hochul said on Thursday that the New York State Public Service Commission has adopted a $200 million energy bill credit program to be managed by large electric and gas utilities on behalf of their customers. Under the plan proposed by the Energy Affordability Policy working group, the $200 million appropriation included in this year's state budget will be allocated to customer accounts through a one-time credit within 45 days of utilities receiving budget funds. It aims to aid more than 8 million directly metered electric and gas customers in New York. The program also offers funding and technical assistance for homeowners, renters and businesses to manage their energy needs. 'Energy affordability continues to be a top priority ... and this utility bill credit is just one of many actions New York is taking to reduce costs,' Hochul said in a news release. Last year, New York was awarded nearly $24 million in federal funding to strengthen the state's electric infrastructure to minimize the effects of extreme weather and natural disasters."

The Big Green, Inc. billionaires seem to have a real problem with the democratic process.

Fox News (2/14/24) reports: "Left-wing nonprofits quietly coordinated a first-of-its-kind investigation into Big Oil led by the New York State Attorney General (NYAG) years ago, sparking dozens of current climate lawsuits, according to newly disclosed internal communications. The communications — obtained by watchdog group Government Accountability & Oversight (GAO) and shared with Fox News Digital — show Lee Wasserman, the longtime director of the billionaire-fueled Rockefeller Family Fund, and other climate advocates first pitched the idea of subpoenaing oil giant ExxonMobil to then-New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office in early 2015. Following months of coordination and dialogue between Wasserman, his associates and NYAG officials, including current New York City District Attorney Alvin Bragg who was leading NYAG's Social Justice division at the time, Schneiderman subpoenaed ExxonMobil in November 2015. Three years later, the NYAG filed a lawsuit against the multinational oil major, accusing it of fraud and misleading investors on global warming."

Why did Secretary Jenny get off the bus if Proterra "really impressed" the White House?

Wire Points (2/16/23) reports: "Heralded as a renewable energy triumph, electric transit buses made by Proterra attracted major public investments in the Chicago area, Bloomington-Normal and many other metros around the country. Calamity resulted from many of those purchases, with stories now common about disastrous performance, cost overruns and buses sitting unused. No problems are being identified, however, by PACE, Chicago’s regional transit authority that has ordered Proterra buses, or by the Chicago Transit Authority, which has Proterra buses in operation. But for Connect Transit in the Bloomington-Normal region of Illinois, Proterra buses are a fiasco...The company filed for bankruptcy in August, though its bus transit division recently sold to Phoenix Motor Inc. The January cold snap aggravated performance issues in many cities, though problems preceded both the bankruptcy and the cold. Stories of Proterra bus performance issues are now common around the country, some of which are described by the American Energy Alliance, the Institute for Energy Research and Fox Business...Oh, one other thing about Proterra: Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm sold her Proterra stock for $1.6 million just after President Biden hyped the company in 2021 and before the bankruptcy. The sale was among nine times Granholm violated stock disclosure laws in a single year."
