John,
Today, as we fight the coronavirus pandemic, millions of American families are facing the challenge of working from home AND trying to keep their children educated and engaged.
At my house, I’m balancing making calls to our supporters, creating a finance plan for our campaign, and helping my boys with their schoolwork.

One of the things keeping us focused is breaking for lunch together and going for family walks around our neighborhood (while practicing social distancing). Our neighborhood is doing "window walk" scavenger hunts, where each family does a thematic craft and hangs it in the windows for neighbors to see.
And like many families, our kids are getting more screen time than usual. We’re taking advantage of Virginia Public Media’s (VPM) Learning Plus, to ensure that while the kids are spending more time in front of the TV, it can be educational programming.
John, this isn’t easy. And we’re more fortunate than many in that we can still work remotely, but I know that if we lift each other up and share ideas, best practices, and look out for one another during this time, we’ll get through it together.
Take care and be safe,
Whitney
