2024 Justice Roadmap

On January 18th, we hosted the virtual launch of the 2024 Justice Roadmap, a collective New York State legislative agenda to address the harms of the criminal legal and immigration systems. IDP coordinates the Roadmap together with the Center for Community Alternatives and other network members. Our Senior Policy and Campaigns Organizer, Linda Flor Brito, took the lead on planning this year - soliciting feedback across network partners, ensuring inclusion of voices across campaigns, and calling on legislators to join the call.

We were joined by over 100 participants, including advocates and legislators, who pushed back on the Governor’s continued opposition of key bills and her recent state of the state briefing which leaned on the failed policies of criminalization. Our launch also rejected attempts to divide us with xenophobic rhetoric targeting new and long time immigrant communities in our state. The Roadmap is supported by over 120 endorsing organizations and over two dozen legislators.
