Hello,

Thank you to all who came out to our Comprehensive Plan kickoff open houses this month! Staff received great feedback from ~250 participants across the four areas (Camano and North, Central, South Whidbey). We will post the results of the activities on our engagement website once they are finalized.?You can find the posters we shared here.

For those of you who were unable to make it to an open house, you still can participate online! We currently have two surveys open: the open house survey and vision statement survey. Both will remain open through the end of February.

Starting in March, we will be bringing goals and policies from the past Comprehensive Plan forward to the Board of Island County Commissioners (Board) and the Planning Commission for review of updates needed. First up will be the Land Use Element on March 6; followed by the Housing Element at the Board on March 13 and at the Planning Commission on March 20. Participate in the Land Use Goals & Policies survey on our website to share your feedback or attend the meetings in person or via zoom.
