Earlier this week, Donald Trump sent a dangerous signal to Vladimir Putin, to our allies and to the entire world by suggesting he would not come to the aid of fellow NATO member states if they were attacked by Russia.

He even went so far as to say he'd encourage Russia to "do whatever they hell they want."

President Biden put it best when he said Trump's comments undermining the NATO alliance were dumb, shameful, dangerous and un-American.

The strength of NATO comes from a multi-national partnership that helps keep the world safe — a partnership rooted in the shared commitment that an attack against one is an attack against all.

These are the same allies who rushed to our defense after 9/11 — the only time in history that NATO's mutual defense clause has been invoked — and put their troops at risk without conditions or hesitation.

The idea of abandoning our allies is not just unconscionable, it serves only to weaken our own national security and embolden our adversaries — at a time we cannot afford to do either.

Another four years of Trump is one of the greatest threats to our democracy here at home, and to the peace and prosperity that our NATO allies have seen for 75 years as a result of the alliance.

We’ll need to come together and work even harder to defeat him this time around. But we've done it once and we can do it again, so long as we're united in our efforts together.

That's why I'm asking you today:

Can you make a contribution — of any amount you can — to support our campaign today? Each contribution will go directly toward ensuring we have the resources to defend our Democratic Senate majority and the White House from the likes of Trump and his Republican Party this November.
