My resolution declares that communities of color “have the right to define, name and speak for ourselves instead of being defined, named and spoken for by others.” Only if our voices are heard and when every community is truly represented can we root out the racism, sexism, homophobia, wealth inequality, and all kinds of discrimination that get perpetuated in legislation. That means environmental, health care, housing, public safety, education, and food policy that empowers Black, Hispanic, Asian, and Indigenous communities nationwide! Are you with me?
