I'm writing today to share some big news! I'm one of the first candidates to be endorsed by the Latino Victory Fund as part of their "First Latinas" campaign! I am pleased and proud to accept this important national endorsement.
Latino Victory is an organization dedicated to building political power in the Latino community so that the voices and values of Latinos are reflected at every level of government and in the policies that drive our country forward. Here is what Latino Victory had to say when they announced my endorsement:
Today, we are re-launching our First Latinas campaign–an effort to increase Latina representation in elected office– with endorsements of two historic candidates.
Shamaine Daniels stands to become the first Latina to represent Pennsylvania in Congress. Shamaine is s a champion for working families and an advocate for workers’ rights and civil rights and will be a powerful voice in Congress. We are thrilled to endorse her.

I am especially proud to accept this endorsement because I believe that a diversity of voices is important among our elected leaders. As a first generation Venezuelan immigrant, I represent the promise of the American Dream, and I'm running for Congress to ensure that the opportunity to realize that dream remains a reality for every American.
Protecting that opportunity means electing leaders who understand the barriers that so many, from EVERY type of background, face when striving to build a better a life. It also means defeating so called "leaders," like Scott Perry, who are a threat not just to the American Dream, but to our Democracy itself.
PA-10 is a diverse district, and defeating Scott Perry is going to require a coalition of voters that reflect that diversity, and who share our common values. The Latino Victory Fund joins the National Organization for Women (NOW) in endorsing our campaign, and I couldn't be more proud! These endorsement demonstrates that I am building that coalition, in PA-10 and nationally, and I am the only Democratic candidate in PA-10 who can do so.
In Congress, I will continue the work to which I have dedicated my career - to be a voice for those who have none, and to fight for policies that mean more and better opportunities for every American to build a better life.
