Bensley Agrihood, a project we are a partner on, is looking for volunteers to support two community events happening this weekend. See below for details.

Time: 10am to 2pm (load at 8am)
Location: Beulah Recreation Center, 6901 Hopkins Rd, N Chesterfield, VA 23234
Purpose: BAPP outreach at the 2024 Richmond Night Market’s
“Celebration of Black Business” marketplace held in collaboration with
Chesterfield County Parks & Recreation in celebration of Black History Month.
Our efforts will engage and promote the BAPP directly to the Bensley/Chesterfield County community, encouraging participation in Sunday, February 18th's
Bensley Agrihood “Day of Service” and attendance to the
February 20th zoning hearing.
Organizers: Bensley Agrihood Planning Project in collaboration with
Richmond Night Market (Event Host).
Outreach Logistics and Needs (Initial):

- Flyers promoting Feb 18th BAPP Site Service Day
- Email sign up/data collection Sheet (QR Code)
- 2-3 more chairs

Bensley Agrihood Site Service Day
When: Sunday, February 18, 2024
Time: 11a to 3p @ Bensley Agrihood Site | 5p – 8p @ La Milpa (afterparty)
Location: Bensley Agrihood site, (Swineford Rd, Bensley VA) & La Milpa (6925 Hull Street Rd, Richmond, VA)
Purpose: Black History Month inspired “Day of Service” featuring a
Bensley Agrihood Site Clean-up w/ Land Stewardship Education,
includes “Afterparty” at La Milpa
Organizers: Bensley Agrihood Planning Project in collaboration with La Milpa
Programming (BAPP/Happily Natural Day)
- Libation
- BAPP Welcome & Introduction (Includes a rep from La Milpa)
- Site Clean up + Education w/ Patrick Johnson, Airport Force Farm, Permaculture Expert.
- Conclusion
- Afterparty @ La Milpa – 5p to 8p. (BAPP/La Milpa)
Production Logistics and Needs:
- Community Outreach Stations @ Bensley site & La Milpa (Need a station to Check-in/Register participants, distribute BAPP info/literature, and display other promotional items.
- Volunteers Needed 4-6 @ BAPP site | 3-4 @ La Milpa
