Measles Vaccine for young residents

 

People are being urged to be on alert for measles and to protect their children with the MMR vaccine following clusters of confirmed cases of measles in the North West.

 

Data published today by the UK Health Security Agency shows 24 cases of measles have been reported in the region between 1 October last year and 13 February, and the majority of cases are in Greater Manchester. 

 

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is working with partners in local authority public health teams and the NHS to monitor the situation, provide advice and support local communities.

 

Symptoms of measles appear 7-10 days after contact with the virus.

Oldham Way closure
 
Oldham Way will be closed in both directions for three nights on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 21, 22 and 23 of February for resurfacing work.
 
The closures will be in place from 8pm until 5am between the Manchester Road roundabout up to the junction of Prince Street/Oldham Way. 
 
Signposted diversions will be in place.

Your views matter - road safety survey

Greater Manchester (GM) is taking steps towards adopting Vision Zero, which aims to eliminate all deaths and life-changing injuries on the region’s roads by 2040.

 

An online survey, that launched on Monday 12 February, provides an opportunity for individuals and organisations to share their personal experiences and thoughts on roads in GM.

 

Your views will be used to help shape the action plan for the implementation of the Vision Zero strategy for GM.

 

The survey will run until Sunday 10 March and will be followed by further public engagement on the Vision Zero Action Plan later in the year.

 

People who would prefer not to complete the survey online can request support to complete the survey in an alternative format by contacting TfGM Customer Contact Centre on 0161 244 1000 or emailing [email protected].
