Arlington, VA - This week, the GOPAC Election Fund will launch its initial effort in support of the election of Craig Goldman to Texas' 12th Congressional District.

"Mission Majority is committed to electing pragmatic, governing conservatives to Congress. Because he has led in the Texas House on issues focused on Texans’ personal and economic security, Craig Goldman has earned the endorsement of GOPAC's Mission Majority program," GOPAC Chairman David Avella said. He continued, "Today, we are launching an independent expenditure program to identify voters for Craig and remind them to vote in the Primary Election on March 5th. Our program coincides with the start of early in-person voting, and is designed to provide Craig’s campaign support from a trusted ally to secure his victory.”

Earlier this month, Goldman earned the endorsement of GOPAC's Mission Majority.

Minnesota & Wyoming.

Bearden wins Georgia Senate race;

runoff set for state House

House runoff features Republicans CJ Pearson and Gary Richardson

February 13, 2024

Republican former state Rep. Tim Bearden won a special election for the state Senate on Tuesday while another race for the state Hous is heading for a runoff between two Republicans, former Columbia County Commissioner Gary Richardson and conservative activist C.J. Pearson.

Bearden, who supported expanding gun rights when he served in the House from 2005 to 2011, defeated three opponents for the seat vacated by former state Sen. Mike Dugan, a Republican from Carrollton. Dugan resigned to run in the congressional district held by U.S. Rep Drew Ferguson, who isn't seeking reelection.

$10.8 Billion Budget, 205 Bills To Start 2024 Wyoming Legislature Session On Monday

When Wyoming legislators begin their 2024 session Monday, they'll start with Gov. Mark Gordon's proposed $10.8 billion budget

and 205 bills already introduced

Cowboy State Daily | Leo Wolfson

February 10, 2024

The 2024 legislative budget session will begin Monday, and with it consideration of 205 bills that have already been introduced.

Even with all those bills, the focus of the session will be the consideration of the 2025/2026 biennial budget, a weighty $10.8 billion proposal that will take up a significant portion of the three-week session.

To get any legislation introduced that isn't the budget, a two-thirds majority vote is required, which means many of those 200-plus standalone bills will likely not advance.

Pre-Session Update

from Senate Minority Leader Mark Johnson

KROX | Senator Mark Johnson

February 8, 2024

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

It's supposed to be the middle of winter, but it feels like spring is here to stay. The session begins Monday, February 12, at noon and will continue until May 20. A short time frame to get meaningful changes for Minnesotans. Below are a few issues that will be addressed during the session this year.

SANCTUARY STATE

The Democrats are proposing to make Minnesota a sanctuary state for immigrants in the U.S. who are here without legal authorization.

Attempts to make Minnesota a "sanctuary state" - especially following recent surges of migrants here - emphasize why border security is so important to the entire country, not just border states. Refusing to uphold our immigration laws would simply be political gamesmanship from left-wing activists. We shouldn't make Minnesota a more enticing place to go to avoid the consequences of violating immigration law. It's unfair to force Minnesota taxpayers to pay for the high costs associated with illegal immigration due to overburdening our social services.

WG Economy: Inflation Remains Stuck Over 3%

WG Economy | David Winston

February 14, 2024

The new CPI report showed year-over-year inflation at 3.1% - upsetting the White House narrative that inflation is in the rearview mirror. As shown in our inflation trend chart, year-over-year inflation remains stuck at or above 3% for eight months in a row, and has not shown signs of going below 3% as anticipated. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell has resisted rushing to cut rates, and these numbers reinforce that position.

Our Presidential Inflation Rate tracking has ticked back up to 17.9% - meaning that there has been almost 18% price increase since President Biden has been in office. In terms of specific aspects of CPI, gas prices are up over 33% since the beginning of the Biden presidency, and electricity at an astonishing 28.6%.

WG Discussion Points: 2024 Senate Race Profile: Montana

WG Discussion Points| David Winston

February 9, 2024

In the 2006 election, DSCC Chair Chuck Schumer recruited Senate candidates he thought would be the most electable for their states, and his strategy included intervention in primaries. In six states, Democratic challengers won, getting Democrats to 51 in the Senate. Three of them - Jon Tester (MT), Sherrod Brown (OH), and Bob Casey (PA) - are top Senate targets for Republicans in 2024. Will this finally be the year that Republicans crack the code against these Democratic incumbents?

In this week's Discussion Points, we are taking a historical look at election results and exit polls from three previous races against Tester (2006, 2012, 2018) and the 2020 presidential. In 2006 Republicans came close to holding this Senate seat, losing by 0.87%. Looking at all three cycles with Tester on the ballot, the margins have been close, but Republicans have fallen short of defeating Tester. Here is a brief look at the state since Tester was elected to the Senate.

On Tuesday, Chairman Avella joined Fox News Channel's John Roberts, and Democratic Strategist Richard Fowler on America Reports to discuss the border crisis.
