Earlier this month Nottingham was illuminated for Light Night, with thousands of people attending the event over two nights.

More than 30 installations, events and activities took place across the city centre, opening up the city’s fantastic spaces with light and colour, and giving people of all ages the opportunity to explore after dark.

If you came to Light Night, we’d really like to hear your thoughts in our visitor survey so we can make improvements for next year. You’ll also have the chance to win tickets to the Sausage & Cider Festival at Wollaton Hall & Deer Park on Saturday 1 June.

"Libraries are treasured places. We may remember visiting a local library in childhood to explore an early delight in reading. Or perhaps we have come to value them in later life, as a calm sanctuary where we can daydream among beloved books."

Join Nottingham Central Library for the launch of "Ten Poems about Libraries", published by Candlestick Press. The poems are selected and introduced by poet Lorraine Mariner who has worked at the National Poetry Library in London for many years and who will be reading at the event. Other readers include contributing poets Adrian Buckner and Claire Crowther, as well as members of local poetry group, Gobs Collective.

Tickets are free but must be booked in advance.
