Women in New Mexico are being abandoned and the governor has given up on girls.
Hi there,
I’m just returning from a trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where on Tuesday, February 13th, I stood alongside several other Independent Women’s Voice (IWV) Ambassadors, all who have been directly impacted by the erasure of women and radical gender ideology. We were there to celebrate the introduction of HB 205 — IWV’s Women’s Bill of Rights (WBOR) — and call upon Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham to stop abandoning New Mexican women and girls and start prioritizing equal opportunity and protections for women across the state.
New Mexico’s WBOR will establish definitions of ‘male’ and ‘female’ terms in state law and help protect single-sex spaces, like rape crisis centers, prisons, athletic teams, and locker rooms.
New Mexico is one of the most far gone states where gender ideology has run amok.
“There is no way to opt out of gender ideology here,” a New Mexico educator and mother of a gender distressed child told media at one of our events. “You can’t have a conscientious objection because it’s all automated now on a level that you don’t even have an awareness of.”
We will not be bystanders to the radical left’s harmful efforts to eradicate male and female sex differences.

One supporter attending the press conference said WE were the voices that she and many other women in New Mexico have been waiting for. OUR message is what needs to be heard across the state. She told us that New Mexico’s elected officials have ignored her outreach and “have left women behind.”
Women who are victims of rape and domestic violence need a safe space without men. Women who are incarcerated shouldn’t fear sharing quarters with male inmates in women’s prisons.
Fellow IWV Ambassador Amie Ichikawa stood with me to talk about this firsthand. Amie is a formerly incarcerated woman now using her voice to advocate for women behind bars who are being forcibly housed with violent criminal men who self identify as women.
“There is NO regard for incarcerated women. This is blatantly harming women to favor men. States are neglecting the abuse and discrimination against women behind bars,” Amie told the media.

New Mexico is one of many states in 2024 to introduce IWV’s Women’s Bill of Rights and show a commitment to women and our equality and protection.
I am proud of the work and progress in states like New Mexico, but the fight is far from over.
Friend, we will continue to stand with women and we invite you to join us on our mission.
