Listen, we won’t insult you by pretending everything is sunshine and rainbows.

There’s plenty to be (rightfully) concerned about. The uncertain future of abortion access, the out-of-control climate crisis, a gun violence epidemic…you’ve heard it all.

But Team Casten is a glass-half-full kind of crew. We all need a reason to hope – otherwise, why would we keep up our fight? So here are a few reasons to stay optimistic about this year’s election.

(If you REALLY prefer the glass-half-empty approach, you can skip the rest of this email. But, please, chip in before you go!)

  • The Build Back Better agenda is working. We’ve made historic, long-overdue progress on climate, infrastructure, economic growth, and so much more.

  • Donald Trump is finally facing real consequences for his coup attempt + a few dozen other felonies. It’s proof that democracy works when we’re willing to fight for it, and that no one is above the law (including a disgraced ex-president).

  • Congressional Republicans are so busy fighting amongst themselves, they haven’t had time to accomplish their right-wing agenda. (That’s why Sean calls ‘em the Bare Minimum Majority!)

  • Polls show that a majority of Americans support clean energy, abortion rights, affordable healthcare, investing in infrastructure, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and common-sense gun reform. Unsurprisingly, the failed MAGA agenda (tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy, rolling back rights, and one-man dictatorship) is as unpopular as ever.

  • Last but not least, YOU. You read our emails, stay up-to-date with our campaign, and chip in when you can. Your enthusiasm and dedication have been key to our success over the past few years. So as long as you’re on our team, our future is bright.

We hope we were able to give a boost of positivity. Will you chip in a few bucks to boost our grassroots campaign in return?
