Hi, Senator Bernie Sanders just released a report focused on three medications that are up to ten times more expensive in the United States than elsewhere in the world.1 We know Big Pharma has a track record of putting profits over people, all while some conservatives claim that we should be “grateful for high drug prices.”2 But how could anyone be grateful for high drug prices? So many Americans can’t afford the life-saving medication they desperately need. Here’s an example of the extent of Big Pharma’s greed: a drug called Eliquis, which can help prevent strokes, costs $7,100 per year for the average consumer. How much does that drug cost to make? $18.3 Yep, that’s right. Big Pharma can make an entire year’s supply of that medication for $18. Meanwhile, they’re charging us over 300 times that amount. Big Pharma is afraid to face accountability. They’ll fight tooth and nail, but we’re not going to let them keep putting their greed over our lives. We know that we deserve better. We deserve access to affordable medications. We deserve to come before any corporation’s bottom line. Tell President Biden: Lower drug costs and stop Big Pharma! Thanks for taking action, Sources:
