In a vote of 210-209, the House of Representatives just voted to accelerate a MASSIVE build-out of liquified methane gas (LNG) after the Biden administration recently moved to pause future approvals of new methane gas exports until the Department of Energy (DOE) updates its approach to reviewing such projects.
We could see similar legislation move through Congress. LCV needs to escalate our campaign if we’re going to prevent this disastrous bill or other attempts to accelerate methane gas exports from moving through Congress, especially through must-pass legislation.
The only way to do that is to mobilize — and fast. But we need your help to make it happen.

We can’t come up short here — we can’t go backwards on climate action. We need to pull out all the stops to make sure that President Biden’s recent historic announcement to pause new methane gas exports isn’t undone. That means we need resources to run ads, direct messages into Congress, and lobby members and their staff directly.
Stopping these types of harmful fossil fuel buildouts — which devastate nearby communities and worsen the climate crisis — is critical to a safe, healthy future where all communities can thrive. We’re counting on your support to keep the pressure on members of Congress to defend our environment and climate today.
