We know the news moves quickly these days, and with so much to keep track of we wanted to make sure you didn't miss this:

In the hours after Roe v. Wade was overturned in June 2022, Missouri became the first state to officially ban abortion. Now just this month, Republicans in that state’s legislature are taking extreme measures and fully blocking efforts to add exceptions to that ban, even in the case of rape or incest.

One state senator claimed that Democrats want to bring back abortion so that "1-year-old" children could get them. Another justified his vote by claiming that requiring victims to give birth would be "the greatest healing agent [they] need to recover."

This news out of Missouri is just the latest in a seemingly never-ending series of Republicans forcing stricter, crueler and ever-more-controlling laws on millions of women and families all across the country.

Republicans have repeatedly shown the lengths they're willing to go to to undermine our constitutional rights and drag our country back to a time that should be left long in the past, and developments like these are precisely why we need more common-sense, pro-choice Democratic women at every level of government.

And we know that if Mitch McConnell's GOP regains control of the U.S. Senate — where our razor-thin majority is already at risk — a nationwide abortion ban like what they have in Missouri is near the very top of their agenda.

It’s on us to do everything we can to defend women’s rights, bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom for all, which is why we're asking:

Can you chip in $5 or anything you can to support Tammy's work defending our Democratic majority and the rights of all Americans to choose? Your support today is so important in this effort.
