We’re starting to think Ted’s prayers aren’t getting through.
John,
This past weekend saw yet another high profile shooting — this time inside a Houston megachurch.
While a complete catastrophe was averted thanks to two off-duty police officers neutralizing the shooter, Saturday’s shooting once again serves as a dark reminder to us all of the need to act now to pass common sense gun reforms that save lives.
If you ask our part-time senator Ted Cruz and other Republicans why these shootings have become so common, they’ll point to anything and everything but the actual problem — the guns.
Thankfully, we’re working hard to do everything in our power to Cut Cruz and elect a senator who will act to prevent gun violence and shootings like these.
If you'd like to elect a common-sense gun advocate, please chip in what you can today.
Rather than push for solutions that would actually reduce the number of incidents like these, Ted decided to resort to his standard playbook: offering nothing more than empty “thoughts and prayers” and falsely implying that the shooter was trans as part of the far-right’s continued push to denigrate and vilify the trans community.
As we know — none of this has actually reduced the number of shootings in the U.S. In fact, this number has risen sharply in recent years.
It’s clear that Ted Cruz isn’t willing to act on gun violence, but we are, John.
That’s why it’s crucial that our grassroots movement amasses the resources it needs to support the eventual Democratic nominee to not only to kick Ted out of the Senate, but elect a leader who will act on gun violence.
So can you pitch in what you can today to replace our part-time senator with a common sense gun reform advocate?
